No it's not Disney World you ignoramus, it's Neuschwanstein! Guten Tag mein Freund. Wie geht's?
Germany is a land rich in history and culture, and recent years have generated events making it even more interesting. In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell and Germany was re-unified. In 2001 or so they will convert from the deutsche mark to the new European currency standard, the euro. This will ease it's ability to conduct business with the other countries of Europe.

You may find this hard to believe, but Germany was not always a symbol of peace and harmony. In the day, it played major parts in many wars and found interests of expanding it's borders at the costs of several small countries. One of the things that has made Germany so great is it's ability to cope with the loss of war. It has managed to flourish, even following World War II.

Here is some basic German vocabulary and phrases you will find beneficial to know around me. Within the parenthesis is my comprehensive guide to pronounciation.

"Dave, are you German or something?"

Some of you might be wondering by now where my German nationalism comes from. Well, the quickest and simplest answer would be my ancestors. Both my mother's and father's sides of the family have roots reaching to Germany, though not for some time have my relatives lived there.
